Is your state eligible for millions of dollars in bonus payments from the Federal government?
The Lewin Group’s Medicaid Bonus Payment Calculator is a tool that allows a state to estimate the potential bonus available under the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009 (CHIPRA) if the state meets certain Medicaid enrollment targets. The tool uses data from a number of publicly available sources, as well as data that you provide, to show what kinds of opportunities may be available to your state.
You can use this tool to observe how different scenarios might affect the funding available and design your strategy to maximize your state’s Medicaid and CHIP programs.
We will also be holding a free webinar to demonstrate the calculator and discuss the types of options and design challenges that states should consider in implementing enrollment and eligibility reforms. Sign up for The Lewin Group’s free Medicaid bonus program webinar, to learn more about the calculator and issues surrounding the CHIPRA program.
Will my state receive bonus payments?
Congress appropriated $3.2 billion for bonus payments to states, with payments beginning in the first quarter of fiscal year 2010 (additional amounts may be available if there are other unspent CHIP appropriations). The funding levels are intended to be sufficient to reward states that make significant investments in enrollment and retention. Get started with the Lewin Medicaid Bonus Payment Calculator.
How does my state qualify?
There are two general criteria to qualify for bonus payments. First, states must demonstrate increases in Medicaid (not CHIP) enrollment in fiscal year 2009 and future years that exceed a baseline amount trended forward. Read More....
