Dean Farley

Dean joined The Lewin Group in 2007. Dean has more than 25 years of experience conducting and managing research involving health economics, health care information, reimbursement, and prospective payment. He served as Deputy Director, Division of Provider Studies, at AHRQ, where he helped to transform the HCUP project into its current Federal-State partnership. He was also Senior Vice President of Health Policy and Analysis for HSS, a firm that offered software and services to support both providers and payers in their management of health information and reimbursement processes. When HSS was acquired by Ingenix, he moved into a larger role managing R&D in support of Ingenix payment integrity solutions. Dean also served as the Vice Chair of the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission, and has held academic positions at Columbia University, The George Washington University, and the Medical College of Virginia. Dean received a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics and a Master of Public Affairs from Princeton University.
