Support includes the design, implementation, and evaluation of research and/or payment and service delivery models to test their potential for reducing expenditures for Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP and uninsured beneficiaries while maintaining or improving the quality of care.

The MIDS contract is used to develop outcome, process, structural, cost and composite quality measures that are reflective of quality care across a wide range of health care settings. Its purpose is also to support collecting data that could be used to trend quality related to patient care for those patients who receive services across settings, as well as other uses related to cross-setting analysis.
