Grecia Marrufo is a Ph.D. economist with over 16 years of professional experience in analytic policy consulting, especially around the design and evaluation of innovative value-based payment models. She has directed many studies on behalf of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC), Agency for Health Care Research (AHRQ), Government Accountability Office (GAO), and Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE). Dr. Marrufo currently serves as the Project Director for the Bundled Payment for Care Improvement (BPCI) initiative Models 2-4 evaluation and monitoring contract. She also serves as the project director for the Evaluation of the Comprehensive End-Stage Renal Disease Care (CEC) initiative for CMS.
Prior to joining Lewin, Marrufo was a principal research director at Acumen LLC where she focused on the Medicare program, including evaluation studies on payment demonstrations and program interventions, program integrity analysis for Medicare Part C and Part D, models to simulate the impact of changes in drug coverage, and quality measurement.
She received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Chicago.
