Mustafa Karakus, PhD
Dr. Karakus is a vice president with Lewin’s Center for Evaluation and Advanced Analytics. Dr. Karakus brings 15+ years’ experience in program and policy evaluation design and policy consulting to help federal clients design and implement effective innovations and reforms.
As a health economist with a strong background in health policy, health services research, evidence-based care, health care financing and health outcomes research, he brings a strong subject matter expertise on study design and implementation, primary data collection, data analysis and dissemination of findings.
Dr. Karakus has extensive experience in leading evaluation studies and is currently working on the evaluation of value-based care models for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). He received his MA in economics from the University of Colorado, and his PhD in health economics from Johns Hopkins University.
