Webcast: Innovation and Role in Health Care Improvement

July 14, 2011

On Monday July 18th, Dr. Paul Wallace, MD, Senior Vice President and Director, The Lewin Group Center for Comparative Effectiveness Research will present a talk on the new Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) and the role of innovation in improving health care.  This Capitol Hill briefing, held in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, is sponsored by the Alliance for Health Reform and The Commonwealth Fund.  Other speakers include Marsha Gold, Mathematica Policy Research, Tim Ferris, Partners/MGH Institute for Health Policy, and Peter Lee, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, and is co-moderated by Ed Howard of the Alliance and Stuart Guterman of Commonwealth Fund.

Within the session "The Innovation Center: How Much Can It Improve Quality and Reduce Costs – and How Quickly?" , Dr. Wallace's talk will demonstrate the important role innovation plays in the health care arena, and the importance of understanding how innovation is perceived through different perspectives (patients, practitioners, policy makers).

Tickets to this highly anticipated briefing sold out quickly, but a full webcast, podcast, videos of the individual speakers’ presentations, PowerPoint presentations and downloadable resource materials will be available beginning Tuesday July 19th at 3pm.
