Chris Bach is a vice president in the Lewin Group’s Center for Evaluation and Advanced Analytics. She is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries. Chris has more than 20 years of experience as a healthcare actuary and has been involved in pricing for both commercial and government programs. Bach’s previous experience includes the development of projected rates, preparing rate filings, managing health care reform and payment reform analysis projects, developing and certifying Medicaid capitation rates and several Medicaid analysis projects for various states and health plans. In addition, she has extensive experience in the preparation and certifying of Medicare Advantage bids.
Bach has extensive experience in Medicare managed care pricing and bid preparation, as well as Medicaid pricing and rate negotiations. She has analyzed Medicare revenue, expenses, and benefit packages in several service areas for numerous clients, prepared bids for submission to CMS, and provided actuarial certification of the methods and assumptions used in producing those bids. On the state side, Bach has worked for state Medicaid programs, associations of Medicaid managed care organizations and for single Medicaid MCOs in Ohio, West Virginia, Florida, Minnesota and the District of Columbia.
Bach received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with an actuarial emphasis from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She currently serves on the American Academy of Actuaries’ Medicaid subcommittee, which provides commentary and analysis from the Academy on contemporary issues that impact Medicaid state agencies and programs, and the managed care organizations participating in those programs.
