Lisa Shugarman is a nationally recognized expert in aging, long-term services and supports (LTSS), end-of-life care, integrated care, chronic and advanced illness, and Medicare, Medicaid and dual eligible populations.
Dr. Shugarman is serving as project director or task lead for high-level federal and state government initiatives including the CMS Integrated Care for Kids (InCK) Implementation and Monitoring contract, which tests a new Medicaid model of integrated care for at-risk children and youth in seven regions around the country. In addition to work for CMS, Dr. Shugarman has supported work for ACL, the VA and several states.
She has published over 50 papers in peer-reviewed scientific literature and presented at more than 80 national conferences. Dr. Shugarman is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and received her doctorate from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
