Adapt payment systems to the modern era
Lewin has objectivity, the methodological rigor and a national scope of knowledge to measure the effects of value-based structures. We provide the data that will set the course for ongoing transformation.
Lewin’s work generates new information about the human and economic effects of health policy. Confirming successful value-based payment models can drive nationwide improvements in the quality and efficiency of care for vulnerable populations and the public at large.

Bundled-payments show potential
In a recent study, using data from 2011 to 2015, researchers asked, “Is there an association between the Bundled Payments for Care Initiative (BPCI) and Medicare payments and quality of care for lower-extremity joint replacement episodes?”
This research published in the Journal of American Medical Association concludes that “bundled payments for lower extremity joint replacement episodes may have the potential to decrease Medicare per-episode payments, while maintaining quality of care.”
Creating value at the state and federal levels
Lewin has the depth of Medicare experience, methodological expertise and administrative precision to provide CMS with support that spans the nation. Our methods inform the evolution of the national health finance infrastructure at every level.
